Established in 2000, Cross-Curricular Connections, Inc. (C3) is a full-service, women-owned business, specializing in custom educational content development.  Run by its two partners, Sigrid Frandsen and Kristina Ellis, C3 employs Pre-K–12 and higher education experts in all grade levels and subject areas.  Since its inception, C3 has developed educational content for a variety of educational organizations and businesses, including the National Geographic Society, the National Council of Teachers of English, PBS TeacherLine, PLATO Learning, Inc., Capstone Digital, Gareth Stevens/Harcourt School Publishing, the Marriott Foundation, MMS Education, MarcoPolo (Thinkfinity), the National Dairy Council, and Seattle Public Schools.

C3 grew out of a desire to provide quality, engaging, and comprehensive curricula and professional development resources, created for and by teachers.  C3's founder, Sigrid Frandsen, had observed that curricular content was routinely developed by businesses that were externally interpreting the needs and routines of the classroom teacher, and developing materials based on limited knowledge of the reality of the classroom, student needs, and how instructional practices and student assessments are implemented on a daily basis.  C3's answer to this problem was to develop an organizational structure which ensures that teachers' experiences, and accuracy in content, are reflected in the curricular content at the same time that student interests, skills, and potential are promoted and continually assessed.

C3 has worked with leaders in education in all subject areas and grade levels, utilized the skills and expertise of more than 100 education professionals, and providing all services and deliverables on time and within budget. C3 has participated in the:

•alignment of content and standards (state, national and Common Core), in all subject areas, for tens of thousands of resources;

•development of curriculum maps/scope and sequence documents for course design in core K-12 content areas;

•design and creation of professional development resources supporting thousands of educators through online and in-person training in virtual course implementation, pedagogical strategies, differentiated instruction, and 21st century skills;

•development of thousands of both teacher- and student-centered lesson plans reaching millions of students;

•development of dozens of online courses;

•review and cataloging of over 50,000 educational resources, including standards alignment;

•development of thousands of standards-based assessment items;

•development of hundreds of online student interactives; and,

•creation of educational curricula for nearly 50 organizations and businesses with a client return rate of 100%.
